It will pass

In his first work, PRA, which inspired the production The Beginning, currently playing at Valmiera Theatre, Justas reflects on his experience as a young actor at the start of his career. In It Will Pass (PRAeis), however, he examines the relationship between theatre and society from the perspective of an experienced, middle-aged theatre artist.

The performance explores timeless questions: How is it possible to remember so much text? How does an actor enter and leave a role? What does it really mean to be a “good” actor? And how can one cope with the harsh reality in which dazzling highs are followed by dramatic lows?

With self-irony and honesty, Justas offers a glimpse into the paradoxical world of theatre and the performing artist. Alongside laughter, the performance also invites reflection: Why do we still go to the theatre, and what kind of theatre and culture do we need today?

The performance will resonate especially strongly with those reflecting on their own path and past choices–those who, in life and/or in theatre, are no longer young and promising, yet are still not at the stage of receiving recognition for a lifetime of achievement.
